PQ200-Technical parameters of PQ ferromagnetic wear analyzer

The ferromagnetic index meter can predict the mechanical
wear rate by monitoring the number of ferromagnetic
materials suspended in the liquid sample in contact with the
mechanical moving parts. It is particularly suitable for
monitoring wear debris in lubricating oil and grease. PQ is a
dimensionless index related to the ferromagnetic content of
oil sample or grease. Standard Test Method for Monitoring
ASTM D8184.
The number (large amount) of ferrous wear debris in the
sample is reported as a PQ index. The PQ index is a numerical
value that is proportional to the number of ferrous fragments.
